Arriving in Canada this Spring: Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

We are happy to tell you that our source has confirmed that Canada will be one of the 80 countries that Sony announced their new mid-range device – the Xperia M4 Aqua – will be available in for purchase…the only bad news we will have to wait until “spring” for it to arrive.  It will be available in white, black, coral and silver, but we have no exact information on what carriers will offer the Xperia M4 Aqua or how much it will cost when it hits Canada – the European price Sony announced was €299, or about US$375.

We knew that Sony would not be announcing the new Xperia Z4 at MWC, but perhaps the Xperia M4 Aqua is even more exciting.  The M4 Aqua is Sony’s attempt to raise the bar on mid-range devices.  It will sport a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 294 pixels-per-inch (PPI).  A Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 – an octa-core 64-bit processor provides power clocked at 1.0GHZ and 1.5GHz.  It is coupled to 2GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB of internal memory that is expandable with a 32GB microSD card.  The M4 Aqua has a 2400mAh battery that Sony claims will give you up to two days of service before needing a charge.

The Xperia M4 Aqua would not be a Sony smartphone without a good camera – it has a 13MP sensor with autofocus and LED Flash and a full 5MP front-facing camera (FFC) for social selfies and video chatting.  A good Sony smartphone must also be IP65 and IP68 certified for dust and water resistance – with a name as M4 Aqua you better believe this device will capture pictures and videos underwater.  It also has Sony’s 3D Surround Sound Technology (VPT), Clear Audio, Clear Bass, xLoud Experience and a manual equalizer to give the user a great sound experience.

The Xperia M4 Aqua has the usual Wi-Fi and hotspot functionality, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and a microUSB port 2.0 for charging and data transfer.  It will be running the newest Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.  It measures 145.5 x 72.6 x 7.3mm and weighs in at 136 grams and has the unmistakable Sony ‘look,’ albeit those large bezels.

Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if the Sony Xperia M4 is a device you will be interested in picking up this spring…as always, we would love to heard from you.
