Google Begins Sending Out Status Confirmation Emails For Google I/O Attendance

Google’s much beloved annual developers conference known as Google I/O 2015 is fast approaching, and there will be much to see and be excited about when the day comes. Unlike previous years, in 2014 Google moved to a random lottery drawing for potential chances to attend Google I/O, instead of just allowing anyone with the cash required the ability to purchase a ticket as soon as purchases went live. The same process has been employed this year. Registration for the chance to purchase a ticket to the Google I/O conference is now over, and just this morning it appears that Google has finally started to send out all emails to anyone who had registered to be given the chance to attend. For many people this is resulting in the dreaded rejection email, but even if you can’t purchase a ticket through the official registration process, there are still other options.

Google may end up deciding to offer up a handful of tickets to anyone savvy enough to find them hidden in random places. Not physically, but digitally, as Google ended up hiding tickets within Google code by way of easter eggs last year. Google loves to use easter eggs in plenty of their technology so it shouldn’t be a surprise if they decide to do the same thing again this year. Even if purchasing an actual ticket to attend the conference in person remains a non-option, there will still be the opportunity to watch the livestream event of the keynote speech, which is generally where the most exciting bits happen. Of course, there is much at the conference to see and do and interact with that won’t be recorded, so we understand anyone’s feelings of sadness for having to miss out on such an awesome experience.

If you registered to go to Google I/O this year but you haven’t yet had the time to check your emails today, open up your inbox and see if you’re one of the lucky winners who will have chance to spend $900 for a way in. You also may have not received an email just yet about whether or not you were accepted or rejected, so sit tight and be patient as those emails should be continuing to roll out if everyone hasn’t already gotten them.
