A few of the biggest flagship devices this year will undoubtedly be the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, as well as HTC’s One M9. While the former two devices will likely see a high sales rate, potentially more than the HTC 2015 flagship One M9, the One M9 will apparently be getting a jump on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge as the device seems to have been confirmed by HTC to launch in Taiwan on the 16th of March, while the global roll out of the two Samsung devices is to begin on April 10th. That’s nearly a month before Samsung new Galaxy S devices hit the store shelves around the world.
Granted, this early launch will be limited to just the Taiwanese market at first, which is HTC’s home country and main headquarters. The announcement also mentions that other regional launches of the device are to begin sometime shortly after the One M9 hits shelves in Taiwan, although no exact dates were given, nor were the exact regions named for where the device would be headed next, and as such there is no real idea of exact pricing. However, HTC has listed the prices for the 32GB and 64GB variants of the One M9 for the Taiwanese market, so a simple and quick conversion of the currency can paint a picture of what to possibly expect for cost.
HTC states that the One M9 in a 32GB model will cost $21,900 TWD in Taiwan, and that converts to $693.02 USD, although that won’t necessarily be the exact price for the U.S. when it launches here as prices usually don’t have exact conversions. As for the 64GB model, HTC says that will cost $23,900 TWD, which converts to $756.31 USD. Even though the phone will have a limited roll out at the start, HTC’s 2015 flagship is launching in just four days.
