Huawei P8 Expected As Invites Are Sent Out For April 15th Press Event

Previous reports detailed the possibility of a release date sometime next month for the Huawei P8 smartphone. Now, we have a nearly official confirmation of a release date for the handset. Today, reports of the Chinese company Huawei sending out invites to the press for an event they have set on the calendar for April 15th have surfaced. Reportedly the invites state quite simply, “It’s Coming…” hinting at a release. While the invites do not necessarily reveal much as to what the event in London will cover, at this point after several teasers a debut for the Huawei P8 would seem probable.

Here’s what we know so far in details for the next phone slated for imminent release by Huawei. Based off of previous leaks, at the center of this powerhouse will be the HiSilicon Kirin 930 octa-core processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM for excellent multitasking capabilities. As for internal storage, the Huawei P8 will supply users with 32 GB of capacity with potential expansion of up to 64 GB with a microSD card. With the lack of a 64 GB model, the more data hungry users will likely praise the manufacturer for not omitting the microSD expansion slot like so many OEM’s have been doing lately. On the front of the Huawei P8 a 5.2 inch panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels rests with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. On the rear of the device a 13 MP camera with LED flash is sure to provide more than adequate pictures for your social media needs. For charging, a 2,600 mAh battery powers the device, in what Huawei hopes will be enough to get you through your day. Lastly, the software for the device is expected to be Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company’s custom Emotion UI layered on top and all packaged in a unique ceramic body.

With all of this information coming to light and a dedicated press conference separate from MWC, it would appear Huawei is placing high hopes on this phone as a big hit for 2015. While there is more than one phone slated for a 2015 release from the company, the Huawei P8 is currently receiving the most attention. With high-end specifications and a possible ceramic construction body, the P8 is looking strong before the event.
