Samsung is making strides in their enterprise adoption efforts, but their next commitment to enterprise isn’t limited to Samsung’s usual strategies in the space and getting Samsung handsets into the hands of enterprise staff, rather it aims to bring the IoT (or, the internet of things) to enterprise. Samsung’s driving focus according to Won-Pyo Hong who is the President and Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Electronics, will be to highlight how adopting the IoT into enterprise, can help businesses create more productivity and profit through numerous ways including saving on energy costs and assisting in inventory management efforts. Hong recognizes though that certain areas have to be addressed if Samsung hopes to speed up the process of businesses and enterprise adopting their IoT strategies.
Security, of course, is one of these areas where Samsung has a challenge to overcome, but it isn’t the only hurdle as Hong also points out the need for better platform compatibility as well as data analysis. Samsung’s push to bring IoT to businesses includes the expansion of its enterprise reach by introducing Samsung Business, an initiative that stretches across six different industry sectors including education, transportation, retail, hospitality, finance, and healthcare, essentially bringing all of those offerings under one cohesive brand dedicated to bringing businesses better solutions for operating their businesses more securely as well as helping them thrive.
Samsung will be demonstrating how each of these enterprise areas work, and how businesses in these specific sectors can benefit from Samsung’s solutions at the CeBIT 2015 conference this week, and they will begin showing off these new solutions starting March 16th, and carrying through March 20th which is this Thursday. Samsung’s goals with Samsung Business are to help their customers achieve their business goals in a time when the world is becoming more connected than ever with just about every area of life. Some of the things they’ll be showcasing this week include their SMART Hotel Solution for the hospitality industry, as well as Samsung School Solution, Samsung Cloud Print Service, and Workbook Composer for Educational Vertical for the Education industry.
