The latest phone set for release this year from Huawei, the P8, is reportedly receiving a bit of an upgrade prior to launch. Originally, the Huawei P8 was going to be shipped with the Kirin 930 mobile processor. This all changed however, according to reports on Saturday, the Huawei P8 will actually ship with the Kirin 935 processor. While both of these mobile processors are eight core beasts, the Kirin 935 is said to include a graphics processing unit with a boost in performance compared to the Kirin 930. Some are worried that the bump in graphics performance will adversely affect the great battery life the company has been claiming all along for the Huawei P8. Either way, this is a great upgrade for the Huawei P8, especially considering the fact that the Kirin 930 was already such a great candidate.
As for the rest of the Huawei P8’s hardware, the phone will feature a large 5.2 inch display capable of viewing resolutions of up to 1080p. On the rear of the device, a 13 megapixel shooter will rest. The processor for the P8 will either be the previously planned eight core Kirin 930, or the Kirin 935. Whichever mobile processor is picked, the winner will be complimented by a plentiful 3 GB of RAM. The Huawei P8 will store user data on its 32 GB of internal storage capacity that will also be expandable. There are still some features for the device awaiting confirmation, but the phone will at least be powered by Android Lollipop.
With the Huawei P8 scheduled for an official unveiling on April 15th in London, a possible last revision such as an upgraded processor could mean several things. On one hand, potential buyers of the phone will likely get even more excited for the Huawei P8. On the other hand, however, last minute changes to a product design could raise questions as well. The company predicts that shortly after the April 15th unveiling of the phone, it will begin its launch on April 22nd. Other speculation surrounding the Huawei unveiling include hopes that the company will also release a smaller version of the Huawei P8. Dubbed the Huawei P8 Lite, this possible additional variant to the Huawei P8 appears to be set to compete among the mid-range handset market.
