Latest Google Keep Update Allows you to Browse your Notes on your Smartwatch

Google, today, announced a new update to Google Keep – their note-taking application. You can now browse through your notes from your Android Wear smartwatch. Which makes using Keep for grocery lists even better, as you can now browse through your notes as well as scroll through your list on your smartwatch. The update works with all current Android Wear smartwatches, so it doesn’t require you having the latest update that was announced earlier this week, which brings WiFi.

According to Google’s blog post:

“At the grocery store, juggling your shopping list with a gallon of milk, a basket of food, and your phone usually ends up with a “Spill in aisle 4.” Starting today, you can leave your phone in your pocket and view notes on your Android Wear device. Just start Keep from the app list or say “OK Google, open Keep” to begin browsing notes on your wrist. To take a new note, you can still use “OK Google, take a note.””

Google Keep has been growing on me recently. It hasn’t always been my favorite note-taking app. And I still much prefer Evernote for taking notes for class, but Google Keep is pretty good for everything else. Which includes grocery lists, taking notes in meetings and so much more. And the fact that you can take a note straight from your Android Wear smartwatch makes it even better. One of the other cool features that Keep has, is the ability to share notes with other users. Which not a lot of other note taking apps have at this time. Makes it even easier for using Keep for grocery lists.

You can get the update from the Google Play Store, but as usual Google has decided to go with a staged roll out. So it may be a few days or even weeks before you see the update available on Google Play for you. But luckily we have the APK here for you to install. All you need to do is download the APK, and then sideload it onto your device. Nice and easy.
