We haven’t heard much from Meizu lately, the company has released a number or impressive smartphones and some smart gadgets in the last year or so, but have been rather quiet lately. We did, however, see several leaks and then an official confirmation that the company is working on a new set of headphones with a rather well-known professional audio company. More or less everyone assumed that we’re talking about AKG, but that’s not the case. Meizu actually listed the much talked-about headphones on their official webpage and revealed with which company they partnered up with, read on.
Meizu has partnered up with Beyerdynamic, not AKG. This is a German audio equipment manufacturer which actually handles all sorts of audio equipment, such as microphones, headphones, conference systems, etc. Beyerdynamic was founded back in 1924, so they’ve been around for a long time now. Anyhow, this company has partnered up with Meizu and released a really solid set of headphones. Meizu has listed the Beyerdynamic and Meizu-branded DT1350G headphones on their official webpage. These headphones will be available for sale on April 20, but it seems like Meizu will be bundling them in with a Meizu MX4 Pro (company’s current flagship) and you won’t be able to purchase them separately. Meizu MX4 Pro (32GB) and a custom gold version of Beyerdynamic DT1350G headphones will cost you 3,699 Yuan ($596) in China. This is not exactly cheap, especially if we consider how much the MX4 Pro costs on its own, but there you have it. These headphones will certainly let you take full advantage of Meizu MX4 Pro’s audio capabilities.
The DT1350G headphones weight only 174 grams and are made out of metal. These headphones measure 189.8 x 154.7 x 64.4mm and offer excellent ambient noise isolation. The earmuffs can be rotated in a 90-degree radius and Meizu says that they’re really comfortable as well, though that was to be expected. The frequency range of these headphones is 5Hz – 30,000Hz and they come sporting a regular 3.5mm audio jack, so you can basically plug them in wherever you want. There you have it, these are Meizu’s new headphones. This China-based company might have plans to release these headphones separately, though they haven’t mentioned anything thus far. Also, it is possible that we’ll see another partnership with AKG in the future, who knows.
