ZTE's Nubia Z9 Event Invitation Is A Nicely Packaged Piece Of Plexiglas Which Teases The Upcoming Handset

The launch date of ZTE’s Nubia Z9 flagship is getting closer by the day. This China-based company will announce the Nubia Z9 on May 6, as was confirmed by the company a while back. This handset will be the third one in the flagship Nubia Z9 line of devices, and the most anticipated one as well. ZTE has announced the Nubia Z9 Max and Nubia Z9 Mini quite recently, but the Nubia Z9 is the one everyone is waiting for. We’ve seen a lot of leaks and rumors regarding this device, we’ll talk about that a bit later.

ZTE has actually started sending out invitations for the Z9 event on May 6, and those invitations are quite interesting, something ZTE si well-known for. The Nubia Z9 Mini / Max invitations were quite interesting as well if you recall. Anyhow, the company has sent out what is presumably Nubia Z9’s retail packaging, and inside of it they shipped a rectangle Plexiglas which will mimicks the Nubia Z9’s front panel, The side of the glass ZTE shipped out is quite probably the same size the device will be, this is sort of a mockup of the device. If you take a  look at the images in the gallery down below, you’ll see the content of the packaging and a comparison with the Nubia Z9 Max and the Nubia Z9 Mini.

That being said, the Nubia Z9 will be a rather interesting device. The company’s General Manager confirmed that this will be a bezel-less device, and he has also posted some info regarding the phone’s special features. You will reportedly be able to use the side edges of this handset in order to activate all sort of functions on the phone, mainly by swiping on the edges. This technology is called ‘FiT’ which stands for ‘Fringe Interactive Technology’. This handset will reportedly also offer a fingerprint scanner on the right side, either built into the power button or on the edge of the device itself, we’ll see.

The Nubia Z9 is expected to sport a 5.X 1080p or QuadHD display along with 3 or 4GB of RAM. The handset will most probably be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 430 GPU. The 16-megapixel OIS camera will be available on its back and an 8-megapixel snapper will be located on its front side. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with Nubia UI 2.8 on top of it.
