Galaxy S6 Active Now Seems To Have Passed Through The FCC

For many people, this year has been the year of the Samsung Galaxy S6. Prior to the release of the two S6 devices, Samsung’s outlook was one which had not looked so good. The company was reportedly seeing falling sales, profits and being squeezed by the likes of Apple at the higher end of the market and the likes of Xiaomi and Micromax at the other end of the spectrum. However, everything changed with the release of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. From the release point onwards, Samsung was suddenly back in vogue, pre-orders were reportedly extremely high and everyone wanted the next Samsung device. As Samsung would put it, ‘Next’ was most certainly ‘now’.

However, since the release. the speculation has been intensifying around the next Galaxy S6 variant which will be released. This is, of course, the ‘Active’ variant of the device and sees the S6 range follow on from the likes of the Galaxy S5 and S4 before it. The Active version is built to be more durable and usually offers a more industrial version of the standard version of the device. Although, the rumors of the Active version have been circulating for some time, the speculation has grown much more in the last twenty-four hours thanks to leaked images which suddenly appeared online yesterday. These images claimed to be of the new S6 Active variant.

Today, it looks like that speculation is very much set to continue. As well as the leaked images, it now seems that in the last twenty-four hours, the S6 variant has now also passed through the FCC. Typically, of such a passing, the FCC noting usually is soon followed by a release of the device in the U.S. Now, there does not seem to be anything new noted in the FCC documents, compared to what was already known or expected. Not to mention, the FCC seems to be only relative to the AT&T variant. At least, when going by the registered model number on the FCC listing, which is one that has largely been associated with AT&T. Either way, it does seem the Galaxy S6 Active is getting closer to a release.
