Oppo R7's Pricing Gets Teased Prior To Announcement

Oppo R7 information has been surfacing all over the place for months now. We’ve seen a ton of images and video content regarding this device, and Oppo’s upcoming smartphone has even been certified quite recently, so we even know its specifications at this point. That’s not all though, Oppo has decided to officially reveal the design of both the Oppo R7 and R7 Plus. That being said, the Oppo R7 (and quite possibly the R7 Plus as well) will get announced on May 20, at least according to the company’s recent teaser.

That being said, the device has been listed on Jingdong Mall in China, and those of you who live in China and are interested in purchasing this thing, you can pre-register for an upcoming flash sale. Keep in mind that the phone will launch on May 20, and will be available for purchase on May 21 according to the listing. The listing has also revealed a range of possible prices of the Oppo R7 by listing ‘2?99 Yuan’ as the possible price point. We at least know that it will cost over 2,099 Yuan and less than 2,999 Yuan now, though this isn’t all that accurate, of course. According to analyst’s predictions, the Oppo R7 will be priced at 2,999 Yuan, and the R7 Plus will cost 3,499 Yuan when they launch.

According to TENAA’s (China’s equivalent to the FCC) listing, the Oppo R7 will land in two variants. The first variant will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 1.7GHz, and the second model will ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor on the inside. The Oppo R7 will feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage which you’ll be able to expand via microSD card up to 128GB. The 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this device, and an 8-megapixel snapper will be available up front. Speaking of its camera, the Oppo R7 will ship with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) technology, which should allow the device to focus in really fast. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed here (Android Lollipop is a possibility though, considering the device got certified a while back) with Oppo’s Color OS installed on top of it. This handset will offer 4G LTE connectivity, will measure 143 x 71 x 6.3mm and weight 139 grams. Another thing to keep in mind is that this handset will offer premium build quality, the company has showed off its magnesium alloy back recently as well.
