As with all VPN apps, you need to understand that you’ll be piping all of your info through their servers, so make sure you’re comfortable with that before going on.
During my testing, I found that Rocket VPN didn’t really work very well over WiFi at all. Google still remained that I was connecting from the UK and no sites redirected to me a Swedish site (I was masquerading as a Swedish surfer) however, when I tried over mobile data, it definitely worked:
With only 500MB free, you’ll quickly start to fill that up with just general browsing, and even quicker if you intend to stream video from other parts of the globe.

There are hackers out there all the time trying to snatch up data, and big bad publishers keep their content locked away inside of their borders. As such, a VPN is a great way of getting access to content that you might not otherwise be able to, and it also keeps your information nice and secure, too. I was disappointed to see that Rocket VPN didn’t seem to work all that well over WiFi, whether or not that’s my network I’m unsure of, but it worked just as advertised over mobile data. You might only get 500MB of data, but the fee for an unlimited subscription really isn’t that high, and I’m sure many will be willing to pay a small fee to access all of those different servers.

Overall, Rocket VPN is a neat little VPN app that gets the job done, and it doesn’t require much effort on the user’s end. I wish that it worked better over WiFi, but apart from a few niggles here and there, it definitely worked for me and it was speedy, too. If you need a VPN, love material design and don’t mind paying a small monthly fee for unlimited usage, then Rocket VPN should do the job.
