Xiaomi just keeps on going. This company has released a whole lot devices this year, ranging from smartphones and smartphone accessories all the way to smart TVs and smart gadgets such as smart light bulbs, smart scales, action camera etc. You never know what to expect this China-based company to announce, and they’ve been holding events quite frequently this year. The most recent event is the one Xiaomi held in India last month, where they announced their mid-range Xiaomi Mi 4i smartphone, which is also the first smartphone to launch outside of China first, usually the company announces everything in China and then pushes those products to other markets. The Mi 4i is already available for sale, as are all the other products the company has showcased thus far.
This Chinese smartphone OEM is nowhere near done announcing stuff this year though, not by a long shot. They still have to announce a range of smartphones (including their upcoming Mi 5 flagship), but it seems like some smart gadgets will come in first. The company has released two new teaser images, touting the release of additional smart gadgets really soon. The company has mentioned May 18 as the date this announcement will take place in China. Judging by the images and some additional information from China, Xiaomi might be getting ready to announce some sort of a home security sensor which you’ll be able to secure your door and windows with and prevent unwanted visitors from entering your home. This information is not official, of course, but judging by the images, it makes sense.
It seems like Xiaomi wants to expand upon their current smart offerings and introduce even more affordable gadgets, the affordable home security device(s) seems like a logical step for Xiaomi, looking back at their currently available devices, of course. Either way, this device / these devices will get announced in 5 days, and we’ll quite probably see more teasers released by Xiaomi before then, so stay tuned for that. While we wait for the additional info, check out the two teaser images in the gallery down below.
