The 6-Inch Meizu MX5 Pro Rumored To Launch In July

Meizu has managed to attract a lot of attention to themselves last year, mostly because they released a number of compelling smartphones. The Meizu MX4, MX4 Pro and M1 Note were all great offerings by the company, and after a rather quiet couple of months in 2015, Meizu has started releasing devices. The company has recently announced the M2 Note mid-ranger quite recently, and a couple more Meizu-branded devices will arrive later this year. The company is expected to announce the Meizu MX5 and MX5 Pro devices by the end of the year, both of which have leaked a number of times thus far.

That being said, a new rumor popped up, touting the specs and release date of the Meizu MX5 Pro. It is rumored that the MX5 Pro will feature a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 4GB of RAM and an oval-shaped physical home button below the display, which is something Meizu does quite a lot recently actually. That home button will reportedly also double as a fingerprint scanner, which was to be expected. Interesting enough, the rumor says that the device will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core SoC which is powering the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, and that’s really hard to believe. A number of recent rumors have indicated that all Meizu-branded devices will sport MediaTek’s SoCs on the inside, so this really doesn’t fit into that picture.

Anyhow, the device is also expected to feature a 20-megapixel snapper on the back, ship with a 4,000mAh battery on the inside. Now, the rumor says that the MX5 Pro will launch in July, which might mean that the company plans to release both the MX5 and M5 Pro together. It is also possible that MX5 might land before or after the MX5 Pro though, we’ll just have to keep our eyes opened for some additional info regarding that. Keep in mind that the MX5 was already certified in China, so it is to be expected that it will launch before the MX5 Pro, or at the very least at the same time as the company’s upcoming phablet.
