When most people think of Adobe, they may first think of Flash, but there’s also Adobe’s image editing tools like Photoshop, and Illustrator and host of other applications which they develop and produce that help people get the most out of their pictures. Today Adobe launched four new applications to the Play Store as part of their Creative Cloud set of apps to give people even more photo editing power, making good on their statements to launch apps in this area by the Summer time. The four new apps included in Adobe’s collection of Android apps are Adobe Photoshop Mix, Adobe Color CC, Adobe Shape CC, and Adobe Brush CC.
All of the apps feature a relatively prominent material design style UI, which is sure to please users, but they also bring in new functionality and features which those who may have used Photoshop Touch before didn’t have access to when editing photos. Photoshop Mix allowing users a varied selection of editing options like cutting out specific sections of your images, merging two images together, and of course sharing those images you edit across various social media platforms. Adobe Brush CC lets users create and customize Brushes from images which can then be used with Adobe Illustrator CC or Adobe Photoshop CC, so this app as well as the other CC-based apps are more useful to those who have Adobe Creative Cloud accounts and use those dekstop tools.
Adobe Shapes CC lets you take the same basic concept of capturing images and turning them into a useful tool for Adobe’s Photoshop and Illustrator Creative Cloud apps, giving you the capability to capture images and turn them into Vector graphics to be used with the web-based programs. Lastly Adobe also launched Color CC, which lets you use the phone’s camera as a viewfinder that allows the app to extract colors from the scene dynamically, and then you can turn around and make those into color themes to be used with the creative cloud apps. All in all these are some pretty useful sounding applications for anyone that does graphic design work or use Creative Cloud programs, and the apps appear to connect to them nicely. If you use Adobe’s CC programs, these apps are tools you should definitely be checking out.
