The Alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Gets Certified In China

Xiaomi has released Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, 2GB variant of Mi 4 and Mi 4i smartphones this year. As you can see, that’s quite a list of devices, and there’s much more to come from this China-based company. First two devices that come to mind are Xiaomi Mi 5 and Redmi Note 2. The former is the company’s upcoming flagships which will land in the coming months, and the Redmi Note 2 is Redmi Note‘s successor, and is expected to be a really powerful, and yet affordable mid-ranger. We’ve seen a number of Redmi Note 2 leaks thus far, and now have some additional info regarding this phone, read on.

It seems like the Redmi Note 2 was just certified by China’s Quality Certification Center. According to the listing, the phone will offer support for TD-LTE 4G network (at least this version of the device). The listing doesn’t exactly say that this is the Redmi Note 2, but the info adds up, and the phone is expected to arrive soon. According to previous leaks, this device will be released next month (July). The phone is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2 or 3GB of RAM. This handset will be powered by the MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit octa-core processor, and will ship with Android 5.0 or 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with Xiaomi’s MIUI OS on top of Google’s Android operating system. The 13-megapixel camera will reportedly be located on the back of this smartphone, and a 5-megapixel shooter will be available up front. The 3,000mAh+ battery will quite probably also be a part of this package.

As far as sheer design goes, we’ve seen a couple of leaks thus far. Several of them have mentioned that the Redmi Note 2 will include metal materials, so you can expect the Redmi Note 2 to be sturdier than its predecessor which was made out of plastic. The three capacitive button setup will be included here as well, you’ll be able to find the menu, home and back buttons below the display, respectively. There you have it folks, it seems like the Redmi Note 2 launch is really close, we’ll report back as soon as some additional info surfaces.
