Meizu M2 Note has been leaking like crazy over the last couple of weeks. We’ve seen a ton of rumors and leaks when it comes to this device, and then the company scheduled an event for June 2nd. It was rather clear what Meizu intends to announce at the event, and the majority of leaked material was actually spot on. The Meizu M1 Note was one of the best mid-range device last year, and the M2 Note is more than a worthy successor. The Meizu M2 Note offers more than a decent set of specs, and its price is more than affordable. We’ll talk more about its pricing later on, let’s check out the device itself.
Considering we’ve been covering this event live in China, we’ve had the privilege of taking a closer look at the device as soon as Meizu wrapped up the press conference. You’ll find a number of hands-on images in the gallery down below, which will surely give you a better look at Meizu’s newest mid-ranger. The M2 Note looks really similar to the M1 Note, but there’s one significant difference between the two devices, the M2 Note sports a physical home button below the display. Other than that, these two devices are much alike in terms of the design. The M2 Note also comes in a variety of color options, just like the M1 Note. The device will be available in Gray, Blue, White and Rose color options.
The Meizu M2 Note features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IGZO display, 2GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of expandable internal storage. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, and a 3,100mAh battery is also a part of this package. On the back of this handset you’ll find a 13-megapixel shooter, while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper available up front. The dual-LED, dual tone flash is located below the rear-facing camera. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes out of the box, and Meizu’s Flyme UI 4.5 is installed on top of Google’s operating system. If you’d like to check out the device’s full specs, click here.
The 16GB variant of this handset costs only 799 Yuan ($129), while the company’s has priced the 32GB model at 999 Yuan ($161), which is also affordable. The device will be available in China later today, and it will certainly be interesting to see how many units will Meizu be able to sell by the end of 2015.
