Huawei has already released the company’s flagship smartphone and phablet for this year, the Huawei P8 and P8Max, respectively. That doesn’t mean the company is done releasing high-end hardware though, not by a long shot it seems. The Huawei Mate 8 is the company’s highly-anticipated phablet, and the Honor 7 a high-end smartphone that has been leaking like crazy for weeks now. We’ve seen a ton of Honor 7 info, from various leaked images and specs, to the phone’s certification in China. The company has also confirmed that the device will be launched on June 30 in Beijing.
That being said, the company has released two additional Honor 7-related teasers, and they’re quite odd. The first one shows a corded telephone, and highlights its physical buttons. The second teaser, on the other hand, contains a picture of a PC mouse, and highlights the scrolling wheel. Now, these two teasers are kind of odd and rather vague, but let’s try to guess what Huawei is saying, shall we. The physical buttons on the first teaser might indicate that you’ll be able to press the rear-facing fingerprint scanner. This guess is kind of a long shot, but nothing else comes to mind at the moment.
The second teaser is far more interesting though. The rear-facing fingerprint scanner might actually double as a scrolling wheel, perhaps even a TouchPad of sorts. It would be interesting if you could scroll a page using the rear-facing sensor, and it seems like that’s what Huawei is trying to say, though that’s just our guess. It is always possible that the rear-facing sensor will be only the scrolling wheel, and not the fingerprint scanner, Huawei still didn’t confirm that the sensor will serve as a fingerprint scanner. Either way, these teasers seem really interesting, and the Huawei Honor 7 launch became even more interesting.
The device will arrive in two variants, well, according to the leaked info at least. The 3GB variant will ship with 16GB of internal storage, and the 4GB model will arrive with 64GB of in-built storage. The phone will feature a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, and a 3,280mAh battery will also be available. The 13-megapixel snapper will allegedly be located on the back of this thing, and you can expect the device to be made out of metal. Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 935 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel this handset, and in case you’re interested, stay tuned, the Honor 7 will arrive on June 30.
