The LG G4 is one of the best smartphones right now, because overall, it integrates most of the features current flagship phones have like a 5.5-inch QHD screen, while it is not the most powerful processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 that it features has proven to be capable enough to manage most of the tasks. The 16-megapixel camera is also one of the highlights of this phone because not only does it has optical image stabilization, but its f/1.8 lens lets it capture more light than most others. This phone also integrates some features that are becoming more rare within flagship phones, such as a removable battery and a Micro SD card slot to expand its internal memory. If all those specs are not enough, the design of the phone itself is quite unique featuring a slightly curved glass protecting the screen and the removable back panels allows for some customization including different materials like ceramic-coated plastic or leather in various color options.
Still, it’s missing a feature that most OEMs have been leaving behind: water resistance. The ability to take underwater pictures might not interest everyone, but then an accident comes and we regret not having this particular feature that has brought some interest to the Sony Xperia lineup. Now a user has submerged his LG G4 to check if it could survive under this condition. The phone is placed under water for a little more than two hours and it holds up really well, when he removes the tightly sealed back cover there is water everywhere but none if it seems to have affected the circuitry or any of the internal components, so you could add the solidity of its construction to its list of features.
This doesn’t mean that the phone is waterproof, so it is not recommended to try this or other experiments involving water on your own device, but still it’s nice to know that it would survive in case it gets dropped to a fountain or a puddle or even in your pocket under a very heavy rain.
