Meizu has released their new mi-range ‘Note’ handset quite recently, the M2 Note. We’ve covered the launch of that handset extensively, and it’s a really solid offering by the company. It’s even more affordable than its predecessor was, and will almost certainly be one of the better selling Meizu-branded devices going forward. That being said, we’ve seen a lot of rumors and leaks regarding the Meizu’s upcoming flagship, the MX5. That handset has leaked a couple of days ago, and it seems like it has even been certified in China quite recently.
That being said, we have some new info regarding Meizu’s upcoming flagship, this time the phone has been showcased in a video clip. If you take a look at the embedded video down below (or the provided image above), you’ll see the alleged Meizu MX5 smartphone. The phone resembles the recently-leaked device a whole lot, but it’s definitely not the same. It seems like the physical home button will be present here, and the phone will, once again, be made out of metal. The volume rocker and the power / lock button are located on the right side of this handset, and it generally looks like a Meizu phone through and through. Unlike the MX4, the MX5 will sport a physical home button below the display, at least that’s what this leak (and a number of earlier ones) suggests.
The Meizu MX5 will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and various internal storage options. This handset will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor, and will ship with a 3,150mAh battery on the inside. The 20-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this device, and you’ll be able to find a 5-megapixel snapper up front. 4G LTE support will also be a part of this package, and the device will ship with Android Lollipop pre-installed with Meizu’s Flyme UI on top of it. According to the latest info, the device will measure 146 x 74.6 x 7.9mm and weight 147 grams. Either way, take a look at the video down below, we still can’t confirm that we’re looking at the MX5, but it sure seems like it.
