Meizu has announced the company’s M2 Note mid-ranger a couple of days ago in Beijing. The M2 Note is more than a decent successor to the M1 Note, and it offers really solid specs for the asking price (which is lower than M1 Note’s price at launch). Anyhow, we’re not here to talk about the M2 Note, we’ve covered that handset extensively and our review is coming as well. The device we’ll talk about this time around is the Meizu MX5, the company’s upcoming flagship which has been leaking like crazy lately.
The Meizu MX5 has actually been certified by TENAA quite recently, and we’ve seen a ton of leaked images and even a video clip which shows off the alleged device. Well, today we have some new leaked images to share with you. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll spot 3 new images which leaked in China, and give you a really clear look at the company’s flagship. Unlike its predecessor, the MX4, this handset will sport a physical home button, at least according to a ton of leaked content. The Meizu MX4 Pro, which launched at the end of last year, did sport a physical home button, but its smaller brother did not. By the looks of it, Meizu is dropping the circular capacitive dot below the display altogether this year.
Anyhow, according to the available information, the Meizu MX5 will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and various internal storage variants. The device will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 3,150mAh battery will also be included in this package. The 20-megapixel camera will be available on the back of this device, and a 5-megapixel shooter will be located up front. The Meizu MX5 will offer 4G LTE support and will ship with Android Lollipop pre-installed with Meizu’s Flyme UI on top of Google’s operating system. The device will reportedly measure 146 x 74.6 x 7.9mm and weight 147 grams. The rumors suggest that this thing will arrive at the end of this month, which is possible, though keep in mind that the MX4 was launched last September… so, who knows.
