Oppo is one of the better-known Chinese smartphone makers as they have been creating some of the thinnest phones out there like the Oppo R5 and its 4.85 mm waistline. Not to mention, they have some interesting technologies to make the displays on some of their phones appear bezel-less. This is done by bending the glass around the edges as was seen on the Oppo R7. The Oppo N3 also has its share of innovation as it features a 16-megapixel motorized rotating camera that can even be controlled by a Bluetooth Remote Control, as well as other camera-centric technologies.
There’s a report from GSM Arena showing pictures of an upcoming smartphone from the company called Oppo Mirror 5. There’s not much information, but since the Oppo Mirror 3 was a mid-range device introduced in January, the new phone could make a good complement to that lineup with slightly better specs. The design of the Mirror 5 looks a lot sleeker with a shiny surface on the back covered, possibly glass, and it even features a diamond pattern created by different glossy surfaces like the one seen on the Oppo R1C, although the back in this last phone is covered by sapphire.
The only details known of the Mirror 5 so far, is that the main camera will feature Pure Image 2.0+, which, combining the hardware with advanced algorithms supposedly take better pictures in most lighting situations and some enhancements for faster autofocus or unique effects like the double exposure and after focus. Part of this technology is dedicated to the front-facing 5-megapixel camera that will be included, like the Beautify 3.0 mode. Although, with some tweaks to create better selfies or suit the user’s mood at the time. The internal memory will be 16 GB and the amount of RAM available will be 2 GB. However, for now, the processor type and specs remains a mystery. The report suggests that the phone could be announced officially very soon and that it will be available in Taiwan first and it could be released as soon as the end of this month. Afterwards, it is expected to be distributed in 20 more markets in 3G and LTE versions.
