There have been a number of interesting products coming out of late. While the smartphone market has seen some interesting additions in the form of the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Yotaphone 2, the accessory market has seen a boom in creating products which are a little out of the ordinary. Virtual reality and the launch of its various products are a perfect example of this new alternative norm. Well, back at this year’s CES event in January, the company formerly famous for their on-the-fly camera images, Polaroid, were in attendance and showing off a number of their more modern products. One of those was the tiny but impressive Cube camera.
Well, it looks like the Cube now has a successor as Polaroid has today announced the follow-up Cube, Cube+. While the device generally seems to look pretty much the same as the standard Cube and also does most of the same features, this upgrade does see the introduction of one important feature. The newest Cube has WiFi connectivity enabled and as such users can sync the Cube+ with their smartphone and instantly share any of the images they are taking. Not to mention, the Cube+ android app will also allow users to use the cube as a viewfinder as well as further advanced control of the new and improved camera. It is not only the software that has been improved though as the newer version also includes an upgraded 8-megapixel camera (up from the 6-meagpixel on the original cube).
That said, there was some news for those who loved the original Cube and this is that Polaroid have now announced the introduction of two new colors, ‘hot pink’ and ‘glow in the dark green’. The two newer colored Cube additions will be available late August and will be priced at the same $99.99 marker as the other colors are. However, if your interest has now been peaked by the newer and WiFi enabled Cube+, then Polaroid have announced this will also be available in August and will be priced at $149.99.
