Google has announced their latest Nexus handset and tablet back in October last year. The Motorola-made Nexus 6 is Google’s current Nexus handset, while the HTC-made Nexus 9 is their tablet offering. The Nexus 6 is a premium device which features a 6-inch display, which makes it more a phablet than a smartphone. Many people were expecting Google to announce the successor to the Nexus 5 (2013) last year, but that didn’t happen. According to a number of rumors, Google is working with both LG and Huawei on the upcoming Nexus devices, and Huawei has even confirmed that they’re involved in the Nexus project.
That being said, Google has also unveiled the new version of Android OS during the recent Google I/O. The new version of Android is called Android M, and it is expected to launch in the third quarter this year. Why are we mentioning all this? Well, according to a new rumor, Google will release the new version of Android along with the upcoming Nexus 5 (2015) handset. Take this information with a grain of salt, as usual when it comes to rumors. So, will Huawei manufacture the Nexus 5 (2015)? According to the rumors we’ve seen thus far, no, they won’t. Huawei is said to be working on a 5.7-inch Nexus device, and LG is allegedly going to be the manufacturer of the smaller, Nexus 5 (2015) handset. “LG Bullhead” is the codename of the company’s upcoming Nexus device, well, at least according to the previous info that surfaced.
What about its specs? Well, we really don’t have much information as far as that is concerned, and can only guess what specifications will this thing pack. You can, however, expect at least a full HD display included, along with 3 or 4GB of RAM. The most interesting part of this handset might be its price though. As most of you know, Nexus 6 is a premium device which carries a premium price tag, while that was not the case with Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. It will be interesting to see how much will the upcoming Nexus 5 cost in the end. Anyhow, we’ll report back as soon as some additional info surfaces, stay tuned.
