After experiencing weak sales on the Galaxy S5, Korean phone giant Samsung started from scratch in the fall of 2014 on a new Galaxy phone coded named Project Zero. Fast forward to Mobile World Congress 2015 where Project Zero was finally unveiled as the universally loved and game changing Galaxy S6. Sporting an all new glass and metal design along with two variants; the standard Galaxy S6 and a dual-curved Galaxy S6 Edge. Both Galaxy S6 variants have been a huge success, and it seems Samsung is back for more with a third Galaxy S6 variant dubbed Project Zero 2. This new Galaxy S6 has been nothing but rumors for weeks, but now details are starting to come forth. Using the model number SM-G928, this new Galaxy S6 is said to have between a 5.5-inch 5.7-inch Super AMOLED dual-edge display. That is a bit larger than the 5.1-inch screens on the first edition Galaxy S6’s and approaches Galaxy Note territory. Project Zero 2 is also said to have a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor to go along with 32GB internal storage. It also ups the ante with a 16-megapixel back camera cable of recording 4K video. More recently we have learned that this Project Zero 2 will be about 151 mm tall and around 73 mm wide.
These specs would make it bigger than the Galaxy S6 Edge at about 9 mm taller and about 3 mm wider. Sources also have it with space for a bigger battery need to power this bigger screen. Project Zero 2 is said to have a very welcomed 3,000 mAH battery that is bigger than the Galaxy S6 Edge, which has a 2,600 mAh battery and is the biggest of the current crop of Galaxy S6 phones. According to most reviews, this was one of the few weak spots on both Galaxy S6 editions. That being said as with all rumors and inside sources this needs to be taken with a grain of salt until the final unveil. This Project Zero 2 is thought to fall in between the current crop of Galaxy and Galaxy Note line of Samsung phones and looks to be announced with the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 at this year’s IFA 2015.
