Happy Bird Pro is an Android game that, well, offers users a Flappy Bird experience. Yet another game has hit the Play Store aping an already tired game, but there are coins this time and flowers that try to attack your beloved bird, just as in other Mario Bros. titles. Happy Bird Pro is an arcade style game that doesn’t ask too much of its users, and mostly exists just to give players something fun to pass the time with. Flappy Bird did that well, but was infuriatingly difficult, can Happy Bird Pro satisfy fans of the original game, or is it just another clone of that same experience?
As with other games on Android, downloading Happy Bird Pro from the Play Store is a good place to start. Once you’ve done just that, you can go ahead and get started.

I think you’re starting to get the picture by this point, this is basically Flappy Bird…but with coins.
Each player starts up with 100 coins, and loses 10 coins when they fly past a greedy flower, but there’s no animation or anything like that to suggest that this is what’s happening. People need to keep collecting coins in order to keep playing, as you can’t play if you don’t have any coins. Which is a little disappointing, really.
If you get a high score, you can go ahead and share this with your friends over SMS or whatever service you’d like. One thing I noted with Happy Bird Pro is that it’s a lot easier than Flappy Bird and other clones. That might be a turn off for some, but if you’re looking for a game you can actually play, then this is it.

Let’s not beat around the bush, Happy Bird Pro is basically a fairly standard clone of Flappy Bird. There’s no denying that fact, it’s right in front of your eyes. Still, for those that want something really simple, fairly accessible while also offering a decent challenge, then Happy Bird Pro won’t disappoint. Now, if you want something with a little more depth, or you like your Flappy Bird clones to be a little more original, then you’ll perhaps not enjoy Happy Bird Pro. The coins are a head-scratcher for me, as there doesn’t really seem to be much point to them. I get that they apparently keep the munching flowers away, but there’s no animation, and you gain enough of them to make the whole “watch an ad” thing to not be all that necessary.

- Speed (3.5/5) – An app like this should fly on my Xperia Z2, but it doesn’t, which is a little concerning.
- Features (3/5) – There’s no getting around the fact this is a clone of an older game, however it’s easier to play and more accessible to more users.
- Theme (4/5) – The retro graphics here look good, and fans of the Mario Bros. will find a lot to like about the pipes and the flowers, too.
- Overall (3.5/5) – If you miss Flappy Bird, and want to play it again without the frustrating difficulty, then Happy Bird Pro is the way to go, plus it’s totally free.

Happy Bird Pro is essentially a Flappy Bird clone that will appeal to fans of the original game. It’s a little easier, a little more accessible and it’s totally free to play. For a simple arcade game on Android that doesn’t ask too much of its players, there’s not much to complain about here, but you may have to adjust your expectations a little here.
