A Chinese smartphone manufacturer, UMi, has been rather busy lately. The company is preparing to release a couple of new products, all of which we’ve talked about recently. The company’s UMi EMAX smartphone has been available for pre-order from various resellers for quite some time now, while they’re also preparing to release a new set of Bluetooth headphones. Anyhow, we have some new info regarding the company’s soon-to-be-released smartphone, let’s see what’s what.
The UMi EMAX is a rather interesting smartphone which offers solid specs, especially considering its price point. Well, this device will be available for purchase starting this Friday for just $159.99, in case you’re interested. The handset will be available for purchase from a range of Chinese resellers like Coolicool, BangGood, PandaWill, etc. The UMi EMAX sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS OGS display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage. This smartphone is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6752 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.7GHz along with a Mali-T760 GPU. The 13-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this device, and a 5-megapixel camera can be found up front. Android 4.4 KitKat (Lollipop coming soon) comes pre-installed here with the company’s skin on top of it. This is a dual-SIM handset which offers 4G LTE connectivity (FDD-LTE: 800/1800/2600MHz), and it’s also worth mentioning that it comes with a 3,700mAh unit on the inside.
The UMi EMAX ships with a metal trim around the device, and sports a rather sleek look. There are three capacitive buttons below the display (menu, home and back), and the LED flash is located below the camera sensor which is placed in an upper part of this phone’s back. UMi is definitely not well-known outside of China, and is not one of China’s biggest OEMs, but this company is trying to get on the map with their latest offerings. It will be interesting to see what will UMi’s next move be, and how will their EMAX handset fare in the global market. UMi has partnered up with a whole range of stores, and the device is truly available all over the world in case you want them to ship it your way. Anyhow, stay tuned, we’ll report back as soon as new info pops up.
