Video Of The Moto G (2015) Prototype Surfaces

Motorola changed its strategy a few years ago and now they offer fewer devices, but each one of them has a very specific target audience. Basically the Moto X is a flagship device for those who want some of the latest and greatest specs, the Moto G is a mid-range device so there have to be a few sacrifices in its components, the Moto E was launched as an affordable device with decent specs, so it’s in the lower-end, while there is also the Droid Turbo which offers better specs than those of the Moto X and carries a battery with a very large capacity. What distinguishes the first three devices is the customization options offered by the company, the Moto X being the most customizable, of course, from Moto Maker, users can choose the material and color of the back plate and the color of the accents of the phone, the Moto G offers the back cover in a variety of colors and the Moto E also offers some interchangeable frames in several colors.

As time goes by, some leaks have been appearing regarding the supposedly new Moto G. First, just its existence was acknowledged in an Indian retailer, but then, pictures of the back of that device were leaked along some of its specs. It featured a new textured back and what could be a metallic plate where the camera and the new dual LED flash will be located that could become part of Motorola’s new design language for this year’s models.

Now, a prototype of the new Moto G can be seen in action as a new video has leaked, it seems to be the footage from where the photos were obtained, so it pretty much confirms what we know so far. In the CPU-Z app, the information given is that the processor is the MSM8916, which belongs to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 with 64-bit architecture at 1.36 GHz. The screen measures 5 inches (4.97 inches to be precise) with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, resulting in a density of 320 ppi. The amount of RAM is 1 GB (as the 898 MB of total RAM suggests), the internal memory was supposed to be 8 GB (the device shows a storage capacity of just 3.53 GB). Either way, the option to expand the memory is there, thanks to a microSD card slot. The device received a 23,355 score on AnTuTu which is far from the best, but that is not too surprising considering the position of the device. It looks to be a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel one on the front and the user claims that its battery has a capacity of 2,390 mAh, a little larger than the previous generation. The overall design looks similar to its predecessor, so there won’t be too many changes, at least according to these leaks.
