Original Moto G LTE Gets Android 5.1 in the US
Moto G owners that waited a little to pick up the 4G, LTE-toting version have been rewarded this week, as they’re finally getting Android 5.1.1 as an update. To be fair to them, this is a big update as they had previously been stuck on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
NVIDIA SHIELD TV Gets Small Software Update
As we covered earlier in the week, the SHIELD TV is getting an update to software version 1.3 this week. This adds better WiFi support and some optimization for new apps and games. Galaxy S5 on Verizon Gets Minor Update
The Galaxy S6 got a similarly small update last week, and now the Galaxy S5 is getting its small update on Verizon. This extends the use of the fingerprint sensor, but there are whispers of adverse affects on Battery life, so best be careful if you’re battery life is precious to you.
Samsung Rolls Out Android 5.1.1 Update in the UK, India, Europe and Beyond
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are reportedly getting the Android 5.1.1 update in India, the UK, Egypt, Brazil, Croatia, Germany, Algeria and Austria to name but a few places. It goes without saying that we’re talking about unlocked GSM devices here, but those on networks in Europe might get lucky. Swing by your system settings and check to see if you have the update.
HTC One M9 Developer Edition Gets Android 5.1.1
Those with the Developer Edition of the M9 from HTC will be getting an 800MB or so update to Android 5.1.1. It brings the HTC software version up to 2.8.617.4 and should come with all sorts of improvements including a nice change to thermal management, apparently.
LG G3 Gets Small Update on Verizon
Those with last year’s G3 on Verizon will be getting a small update this week, which basically adds a Bluetooth button and changes the way that interruptions are handled as well. It’s a small, yet intriguing update for sure and those interested can read more here.
LG’s G Stylo and Leon Get Android 5.1.1 on T-Mobile
