We’ve talked about the upcoming ZUK Z1 handset quite a few times thus far. ZUK is a new company funded by Lenovo and Qihoo 360, and it seems like they’re going to be releasing Cyanogen OS-powered smartphones. Well, at least their first handset, ZUK Z1, will be powered by Cyanogen’s software. We’ve seen a number of leaks regarding this device, including two sets of camera samples. We knew that the phone will arrive soon, but didn’t really know the exact release date. Well, that’s about to change, because ZUK just revealed that information, read on.
ZUK has announced an event for July 21st, and despite the fact they didn’t directly mention the Z1 handset, that’s basically the only phone they’re working on at the moment, so you can expect it to see the light of day in only 4 days. That being said, ZUK Z1 sure seems like an interesting device. According to the previously leaked information, this smartphone will sport a fingerprint scanner and a 4,000mAh battery on the inside. The device will also be equipped with Type-C USB 3.0 port, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will reportedly going to be pre-installed on this device, while Cyanogen OS will be placed on top of Google’s OS.
That’s not the only spec info we’ve seen thus far though. According to some additional leaks, the ZUK Z1 will be fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor and will pack in 3GB of RAM and 16, 32 or 64GB of internal storage. The 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this device, and same can be said about the LED flash. The phone will feature a 5.5-inch display up front, and 4G TLE connectivity will also be available here.
There you have it, it seems like ZUK Z1 will arrive sooner than expected. I don’t know if you recall, but previous leaks were saying that the device will land next month, well, it seems like ZUK will announce their first smartphone in only 4 days. That being said, we’ll report back as soon as some additional info pops up, so stay tuned for that.
