Motorola has an event scheduled for tomorrow, where we expect some new gadgets to be introduced. The invitation didn’t contain much information, although it might be interpreted to have some cryptic messages as to what to expect. According to the multiple leaks that we have been getting recently, it’s pretty safe to assume that the new Moto G will make its debut, and while the Moto X has not had as many leaks as the company’s mid-range offering, it would not be surprising to see it making an appearance in the event as well. A couple of smartphones have also been leaked in pictures and today we got a few names of devices that could be unveiled tomorrow, although the details of those are still very scarce.
A device that is long awaited is the sequel to Motorola’s first attempt in the Android Wear smartwatch market. The Moto 360 was one of the first devices that used the Android Wear platform and the first ones to use a round display, it was announced more than a year ago, though it wasn’t available until last September. Still, its design and stainless-steel build have hold up very well though its internals were thought by some to be needing an upgrade.
Now, a wireless charger for the Moto 360 has just passed through the FCC, which looks like the charger of the current smartwatch, round with regulatory information on the bottom, so this one will probably be for the second-generation Moto 360, albeit this is not explicitly stated, of course. The information includes that the wireless charger was tested while charging a Motorola Smartwatch at three stages, 0%, 50% and 90%. This suggests that the new smartwatch is coming soon, perhaps not tomorrow, but we know it’s coming as it would not make sense to create an identical wireless charger for the current version. Some of the rumored specs for the new smartwatch include a fully circular display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage and a larger battery of 400 mAh. The design could remain very similar to the one of the current Moto 360, but it could be slimmer and more color choices might be available.
