Geekbench Results Are Available For Verizon's Galaxy Note 5

One of the most anticipated devices that is supposed to launch soon is the Galaxy Note 5. It has always been considered a second flagship offering from Samsung as it launches in the second half of the year and it has always included some of the best internals available by the time it launches, plus a very large screen. This year’s device is particularly interesting, as it is supposed to be redesigned to look like the Galaxy S6, a device that has been praised because of its design based on glass and metal and the included stylus called the S-Pen, which offers more functionality than just the ability to draw with it on screen, could be improved by including a new eject mechanism.

We’ve seen a lot of leaked information sustaining the aforementioned information, but there are still some details that we will have to wait a little more to confirm, although today’s leak provides some more information. Apparently, the Verizon version of the Galaxy Note 5 with model number SM-N920V has been tested using Geekbench and those results were spotted yesterday along with some of the technical specifications that will power the device. The included processor is the Exynos 7420, the exact same as the one from the Galaxy S6 and not a newer version as it was previously rumored, the amount of RAM is 4 GB, which was expected to give it a little extra power, although the scores are a little lower than the ones obtained by the flagship.

Some carrier variants of the phablet have already been certified and we’ve already seen some renders of the device and even live pictures, so the rumored August date for its launch seems possible. One detail that we still aren’t sure because of conflicting information is if it will include Micro SD card slot to expand its internal memory, a feature that will certainly be missed by some if the company decides not to include it in favor of the new design. We’ll have to wait about a month to get to know more about the device as the official announcement is approaching.
