Moto 360 2nd Gen Might Have Just Passed Through The FCC

In the smartphone world, today pretty much was Motorola day. The company held their event earlier in New York and took the veils off a number of products including Moto X variants in the form of X Play, X Style And X Pure edition. That is in addition to the unveiling of the Moto G which also occurred today. However, they were not the only products that Motorola unveiled as they also showed off the Moto Surround and the Moto Pulse, both of which are accessories to go along with your smartphone. All of that said, there was one very noticeable product missing from today’s launch. That was of course, the company’s next generation smartwatch, the second Moto 360.

What was even more surprising about the absence of the next-gen Moto 360 is that it was only yesterday that papers were noted being filed with the FCC which detailed what looked to be a charger for the next Moto 360 smartwatch. As such and espeically due to the timing, it had been largely thought that the smartwatch might make an appearance today. Alas, that was not the case with no mention of the new 360 insight.

Well, interestingly, today the Motorola news has yet to finish as it now seems that a bunch of new papers are appearing on the FCC and these ones do clearly look to be for the next Moto 360. Of course, it does not namedrop the smartwatch specifically. However, as the filings do reference a “smart watch” and do also state that the smartwatch is for Motorola Mobility, the likelihood of this being the Moto 360 does make sense. That is, unless Motorola have another smartwatch other than the 360 in the works and about to be released. Of course, what the filings do not offer, is any detailing of the features on offer besides Bluetooth and WiFi support. Nor do they offer any sort of timeline on when the actual smartwatch will arrive. However, the filings do at least suggest it is on its way and with the Moto event now over, it is looking more likely to be an IFA in September unveiling.
