Moto G (2015) Is Official In India As Well, Starts At $188

Motorola has announced the all-new Moto G today, and we’ve already covered the initial announcement of the device. The handset was actually announced via press events in several places at once, the device was announced in New York, Sao Paulo and London. That being said, Motorola has released the Moto G (2015) info in India as well, along with the pricing of their newest mid-range offering. Let’s check out the availability and pricing of the device, and take a look at its specs as well while we’re at it.

The Motorola Moto G comes in two variants this time around, the 1GB of RAM variant which ships with 8GB of included storage, and 2GB model which ships with 16GB of internal storage. These are the only two differences between these two models, they’re completely identical otherwise. It is also worth mentioning that you can expand storage on both of these devices for an additional 32GB via the microSD card. The Moto G (2015) sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display up front, and a 2,470mAh battery is also a part of this package. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core SoC which ships with an Adreno 306 GPU. The 13-megapixel shooter is available on the back of the Moto G, and below it you’ll find a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 5-megapixel camera is available up front, and the device also ship with an IPX7 rating for water resistance. This is a dual-SIM handset, and it offers 4G LTE connectivity. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on Motorola’s newest mid-ranger, and we’re looking at an almost stock variant of the OS. Motorola did, however, include several ‘Moto’ features in here, like the Moto Display, for example.

What about its availability and price? Well, the Motorola Moto G (2015) will be available exclusively from Flipkart starting today. The 8GB model will cost you Rs. 11,999 ($188), while the 16GB variant will set you back Rs. 12,999 ($204). The difference in price isn’t all that big, and you do get double the storage and RAM in the more expensive handset. There you have it folks, the new Moto G enters the second biggest smartphone market in the world, it will be interesting to see how will it fare in the coming months.
