Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 is still all but official. It’s coming, that’s a certainty, but the design is still something which Samsung themselves have not yet revealed and we’ll likely still have a couple of weeks to wait before we see them pull the curtains up. Once their Unpacked event happens on August 13th however, this is the first time consumers can probably expect to truly see the Galaxy Note 5 in all its official glory. That isn’t to say we don’t have any idea as consumers what the device will look like as there have been numerous image leaks and renders, some of the phone and some of cases for the upcoming device, which do a decent job of alerting us to the final design.
Having said that, everything is still just a render, or a concept, or a leak which isn’t verified by Samsung. To add to these unofficial leaks, some new renders have surfaced today which likely give off the best possible idea of how the Galaxy Note 5’s final design will appear once Samsung unveils it at their upcoming event. The image renders come from a user on instagram named Ivo Maric, otherwise known as beespline by their instagram handle. Just by looking at the renders it’s easy to see the similarities between the more recently released Galaxy S6 and the still-unreleased Galaxy Note 5. The image down at the bottom shows the Galaxy Note 5 clad in white with a rounded metal frame and glass back.
Something which remains different though is that these renders showcase a design element which wasn’t used in the Galaxy S6 nor the Galaxy S6 Edge: A curved glass back. There’s no way of telling whether Samsung would implement this piece of the design into final version of the phone, but it sounds like it would make for a more comfortable grip in the hand as if almost contoured to fit in your palm. Aside from the curved glass back, most everything else looks familiar if you’ve held or seen Samsung earlier two flagship Galaxy S devices this year. The same subtle curves of the metal as it follows the edge around the body seem to be present in these renders, and the slightly protruding camera looks familiar too. Whatever the final design looks like, it’s safe to say many consumers would be happy if these were final designs, and that this would be the best looking Galaxy Note device thus far.
