The OnePlus 2 launch is right around the corner, the company will unveil their new flagship later today. OnePlus One is regarded as one of the best smartphones of 2014, and its successor is eagerly anticipated by consumers. We’ve already seen a number of rumors and leaks when it comes to this device, and the phone was also certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) not long ago. That listing actually revealed the design of the OnePlus 2, well, at least supposedly, nothing is confirmed just yet.
As you might recall, OnePlus opened up this Experience Store last year, and is selling accessories over there, and even has rooms which let consumers test the OnePlus One before they buy it. Well, a new leak surfaced recently, claiming that OnePlus 2 will be available from OnePlus Experience Store in Beijing on August 8. The OnePlus 2 will launch later today, 7 PM PST to be exact, and it seems like people in Beijing will be able to test out the device soon enough. We still don’t know when will OnePlus 2 be available from OnePlus’ website, but the company has already opened up invite registrations.
OnePlus’ upcoming flagship will sport a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 4GB of RAM, and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor. The device will also sport a Type-C USB 3.0 port, and a physical home button below the display which might double as a fingerprint scanner. The device will feature a 13-megapixel camera on its back, at least according to the available info we have at the moment, it’s possible that the company might include a 16-megapixel snapper after all.
That being said, OnePlus 2 certainly won’t be the only OnePlus-branded device to be released this year. The company has already confirmed that another OnePlus handset is being prepped for a release (quite probably a lower-end variant of OnePlus 2), and the most recent report claims that the company might release a tablet as well. All of these devices will be released before the end of this year, at least according to various reports. Anyhow, the OnePlus 2 will launch later today, stay tuned for more info.
