OnePlus 2 launch is right around the corner, and the internet has been buzzing about it for quite some time now. OnePlus One was one of the best handsets in 2014, and its successor will also be very popular, no doubt about that. This will be the company’s second device (OnePlus was founded back in 2013), and the company has already confirmed that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s infamous Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC. OnePlus has released a teaser which basically hinted that the Snapdragon 810 used by the company won’t overheat or anything of the sort.
That being said, OnePlus had already announced that they’ll hold a OnePlus 2 event on July 27th, and that you’ll be able to watch this event by using OnePlus’ Cardboard VR device. We still don’t know how OnePlus intends to pull this off, but the OnePlus Cardboard is now available for purchase from the company’s official webpage free of charge (you’ll have to pay for shipping though). We’ve seen quite a few OnePlus 2 leaks thus far, and it’s kind of hard to know what’s real and what isn’t, but a new image appeared in China recently.
If you take a look at the provided image, you’ll get to see the alleged OnePlus 2 in its metal body. OnePlus’s founder and CEO, Pete Lau, has already hinted at a full metal build of the OnePlus 2, so this render might actually be legit at this point. Looking at the back of the device, you’ll notice the dual LED flash on its back, and as you can see, the rumored fingerprint scanner is nowhere to be found. It is possible that OnePlus intends to implement the fingerprint scanner on the front side of this smartphone, but that’s somewhat unlikely as it might affect the design of the phone.
That being said, this handset will sport 3 or 4GB of RAM on the inside, and it might even be released in both those variants, at least according to the some rumors that surfaced recently. Either way, the device will launch at the end of this month, so mark July 27th in your calendars, and let’s see what OnePlus has to offer.
