Opera Max Brings more Control for Data Savings

In the latest update for Opera Max, there’s a pretty cool feature that allows you to adjust how much savings occurs on WiFi vs mobile data. Opera Max’s big feature is that it allows you to save data while browsing the web, as it compresses the data. This allows your data cap to last even longer, seeing as most of us probably don’t have unlimited data at this point. This update allows you to set different savings levels for WiFi and mobile networks. What’s even more interesting is that these levels operate independently. So you can have it set to save a ton of data on mobile networks, and save much less on WiFi. Pretty neat.

This update also brings another feature, which allows you to see how much data you’ve saved all-time. As well as how much you’ve data you’ve used since using the app. It’s a new section called “All-Time”. Which may not be all that useful for most people, but it is pretty interesting, to say the least.

However, that’s not all that’s new in this update, there’s also the ability to exclude specific apps from using Opera’s savings. This is all done under the savings tab. As with most updates, Opera Max also has fixed some bugs and enhanced performance of the app. Additionally, they have brought in a bit more material design into the app, that’s always a welcomed addition.

One of the great things about Android, is that you can set any browser as your default browser, instead of sticking with Chrome. And Opera Max is a great replacement. Not only does it save data, but it is also fast and pretty lightweight. Meaning it won’t use up a ton of space on your device. That’s always a plus, for most people.

As usual, you can pick up the update from the Google Play Store, using the link in the source section down below. It’s a great browser from Opera, and might replace Chrome for many people. With the company continuing to critique their data savings features and allowing users to have more control. It might just be one of the more popular browsers in a short time.
