It seems to be a tradition with Samsung devices that before they get officially announced, we start getting some details from rumors for some months. They then get certified and then there are some more leaks revealing more details. That’s exactly what has happened with the Galaxy A8, we’ve been getting several leaks and there are even videos of this device, which suggest that the official announcement isn’t too far away. The Galaxy A series was supposed to be integrated by devices built with premium materials and some decent specs and the number would suggest that the screen is even larger than the one found on the Galaxy A7 which measures 5.5 inches.
The rumors suggest that at 5.94 mm, this is the thinnest smartphone that the company has ever created and the design takes cues from the Galaxy S6 rather than the other three devices that integrate this family. The screen is indeed larger at around 5.7 inches and it sports a Full HD resolution. The Snapdragon 615 that it supposedly includes along with the 2 GB of RAM makes it stay in the mid-range category rather than the high-end. Still, it is said to include a new slimmer ISOCELL camera module with smaller sized pixels which will allow to take pictures with more clarity and capture more light while keeping the device super-slim.
Now, there are new pictures of the device in real-life that seem to confirm every aspect of the device’s design. Looking at the front of the device, the bezels at the sides of the screen are very narrow and there’s the Home button which includes a fingerprint scanner. The metallic frame features some curves at the sides, possibly to make pressing the hardware buttons a little easier, on the right side, there’s the power button and on the left, there’s the volume rocker and two slots for the SIM card and the Micro SD card. On the top, there’s just a secondary microphone and on the bottom there’s the Micro USB charging port, a microphone and the 3.5 mm input for headphones. The back of the phone is probably non-removable and it could be made from aluminum like on the rest of the Galaxy A devices.
