Samsung’s most recent set of flagships, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge are poised to be joined by a larger version device in the Galaxy S lineup called the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which is speculated to get a launch alongside the Galaxy Note 5 device next month in August, thought to be specifically on the 12th or 13th with a possibility for purchase by the end of next month. There’s no confirmation on the actual announcement dates for either of these devices, but there have been a number of leaks which have showcased what the possible design could look like for either phone. To add to those image leaks and rumors about the launch, a series of specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus have surfaced with a set of release diagrams.
These aren’t the first specs leaks for the phone which have shown up on the web, but they do bring some more details which were previously unknown. Gathering from the previously leaked images and the rumors on the device so far, Samsung’s goal with the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus was to offer consumers a device option which was closer to the size of a phablet like the upcoming Galaxy Note 5, but without the S Pen and keeping both edges like on the original Galaxy S6 Edge. Based on the diagrams below, the comparison between the Galaxy S6 Edge and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus shows that the Plus model will be a little bit taller and wider.
In addition to the difference in dimensions, specs are rumored to be that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will come with a 5.7-inch SuperAMOLED Quad HD screen, and come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor or Samsung’s own in-house Exynos 7422 CPU with 3GB of RAM. It’s also speculated to be coming in three different storage size models of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB just like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, a 3,220mAh battery, a 5MP front camera with a 120 degree wide angle lens, a 16MP rear camera and likely running Android 5.1. The diagrams also show that Samsung is probably not looking to change the look of the phone really at all, save for the actual size of it. So if the Galaxy S6 Edge was the perfect phone for you but you felt it needed just a bit bigger of a display, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus might suit your needs.
