Xiaomi has also sold the most devices in the first half of this year, the company managed to sell 34.7 million units. The second placed company on this list is Huawei, this tech giant has shipped 31 million units. Xiaomi and Huawei are somewhat close in terms of shipments, even though Xiaomi is still a couple of million units ahead of its competitor. Vivo and Oppo are actually placed behind Xiaomi and Huawei, and are not that close as far as sheer sales numbers go. it is also worth mentioning that Meizu has managed to sell 8.9 million units in the first half of 2015, which is a 540% increase for the company compared to last year.
As you can see, Xiaomi and Huawei are the dominant China-based smartphone brands at the moment. These two companies have released a number of great handsets in the last year or so, and the sales number definitely reflect that. Xiaomi is preparing to release the Redmi Note 2, Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus handset, which will only boost the company’s sales number for the rest of this year. Huawei has already released a number of high-end phones, but a lot of consumers are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Mate 8 phablet which will quite probably arrive this September. The Mate 7 was a great high-end phablet which sported really sleek aluminum design. It will be really interesting to see how will these companies fare at the end of the year.
