Samsung has announced the much-rumored Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ phablets earlier today. These two devices have been leaking for weeks at this point, and the info we’ve seen earlier was basically spot on. Anyhow, these two phablets are high-end offerings by this Korea-based tech giant, and we already have tons of coverage on each of these devices, including their US availability. That being said, some info surfaced regarding Note 5’s availability in Europe, though keep in mind that this is not official. Read on.
According to the source, the Galaxy Note 5 won’t reach Europe, at least not that soon anyhow. This actually suggests that we won’t see the Galaxy Note 5 launched in Europe this year, and the info seems rather legible. IDC’s Francisco Jeronimo said the following: “The Note would have been a good fit for Europe’s enterprise market, and if Samsung expects the S6 Edge+ to attract the same business users I don’t believe it will succeed,” suggesting that Samsung might be making a mistake by doing this, referring to this move as final. It seems like Samsung might opt to launch the Galaxy S6 Edge+ in Europe ahead of the Galaxy Note 5, which seems a bit odd.
The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ actually sport rather similar specs. Their design is somewhat different due to Galaxy S6 Edge+’s curved display, and slightly different dimensions. The two phones feature a 5.7-inch QHD display, 4GB of RAM and 32 / 64GB of internal storage (depending on the version you purchase). Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels these devices, and they sport a 16-megapixel OIS shooter on the back. The 5-megapixel camera is available up front, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on these phablets with Samsung’s TouchWiz skin installed on top of it. The Galaxy Note 5 sports the S Pen stylus once again, and software which comes bundled in so that you can take advantage of that ‘pen’. The Galaxy S6 Edge+, on the other hand, also features some specific features, like ‘Apps Edge’ for example. There you have it, stay tuned for more info.
