HTC has not been having the best of times when it comes to their latest flagship device, the HTC One M9. However, luckily for them, it is not the only device in their portfolio. In fact, as well as attacking the flagship end of the market, HTC are also very much interested in the affordable sector of the market. As such, last month the company announced the launch of four new Desire smartphones which were destined to make their way over to the U.S. These were the HTC Desire 626, Desire 626s, Desire 526, and Desire 520.
As well as detailing the new devices that were en route to the U.S., HTC also noted that a number of the U.S. carriers would be carrying these new Desire devices, although specifics in terms of availability and so on were not provided. One of the carriers who were listed as set to be receiving them was Verizon. Well, following on from this point, Verizon has this morning confirmed that they will indeed by carrying the HTC Desire 526 and Desire 626 handsets. Verizon noted the 526 will be available on August 13th for $120 outright (or $5 a month for 24 months) while the 626 will be available to buy in stores and online within the “coming weeks”. Verizon also did note that they will both be available to pre-paid and post-paid customers.
If you need a quick recap on what is on offer with the Desire 526 and 626, then the desire 526 comes equipped with a 4.7-inch display, 1.5GB RAM and powered by a Snapdragon 210 processor (clocking at 1.1 GHz). Additional features on offer, include 8GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Everything is powered by a 2,000mAh battery and the Desire 526 comes running on Android 5.1 Lollipop. In contrast, the Desire 626 comes sporting a 5-inch display, again 1.5GB RAM, and again powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor. Additional features on offer, include 16GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Once again, everything is powered by a 2,000mAh battery and the 626 also comes running on Android 5.1 Lollipop as well.
