Huawei launched a promotion today for most of the products they sell in the US. The Back to School Offer makes up for a total of $175 savings, combining instant savings and some bundled products. While the promotion is interesting by itself, surfing on that page showed a banner for another anticipated product of the company, the Huawei Watch. Clicking on the Learn More link, leads to the official page for the product, which doesn’t have much information right now, but those interested can subscribe to get updated about the status of the watch (or other Huawei products, for that matter).
The site also contains the phrase “It’s right round the corner”, obviously making reference to the launch date, which shouldn’t be too far, while also referencing the circular shape of the display of the watch. As for the watch, Huawei managed to create quite an impression when they introduced their first smartwatch. It’s powered by Android Wear and the company really focused on the design, making it look timeless and classic while using premium materials such as stainless steel and sapphire crystal to protect its circular display. Despite being announced back in March, it is still not available, and some delays have been reported in China, so that’s probably the case for the rest of the markets where it will sell.
Some leaks have indicated that the watch will be available in America, although having a product page makes its launch more certain than ever, and some recent leaks have included images of the retail box, which certainly mirrors the sophisticated looks of the device. This kind of leaks indicate that it could be available soon, but when it launches its specs will probably be competing with some second-generation devices, so they might not end up being the most current ones. Not that its specs are bad, with the display being one of the sharpest and it’s quad-core processor and 512 MB of RAM should manage its tasks fairly well. IFA is over a month from now and the company could give some extra details about pricing and availability.
