Sony Xperia Z5 Concept features Solar Charging

With all the leaks we’ve seen lately, it’s pretty easy to say we’ll be seeing the Xperia Z5 at IFA next month. Earlier this morning, we saw that it would be featuring micro USB, as well as the Xperia Z5 Compact featuring micro USB. Now we’re seeing some concept images out of Nowhereelse, a French publication that states it’ll feature solar charging. The images were done by Victor Cao. The image says “The First Solar-powered Charging smartphone”. Which would be pretty unique and cool if true.

This leak also shows that the device is going to be available in silver, champagne gold and mint. Rather interesting that they won’t be making the Xperia Z5 in black, as they have with previous models. In the picture of the mint colored Xperia Z5, we can also see a few of the specs, which confirm the 5.5-inch QHD Triluminous display. As well as the Sense ID power button. Sense ID is that new fingerprint sensor and technology from Qualcomm which uses ultrasounds. Interesting that it’s in the power button. Additionally, there’s a new camera sensor. It’s the IMX213, which is the same sensor as what’s in the new Moto X Pure, Moto X Style and Moto X Play. It’s a 21.5MP sensor. The device will be completely aluminum, no more glass. And still IP68 certified. It also lists Android M, which I have a hard time believing, since Android M likely won’t be done until October, and this is being announced in the beginning of September, but again these are concept images not actual leaks from Sony.

There’s one more thing on this leak that catches our eye. It says it’ll have USB Type-C. Now this is just a concept, however we did see some leaks this morning showing that both the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will be using micro USB. It’s important to remember that these are just concepts and are likely not the real thing. But they do look awfully close to what Sony is likely going to show us on September 2nd live from Berlin. But we have to say, these images look really nice.
