Sprint's Galaxy Note 5 Availability Confirmed

After months of waiting, rumors, teasers, and speculation, Samsung finally held their Unpacked event in New York City and has unveiled their highly anticipated Galaxy S6 Edge+, a slightly bigger version of the original Galaxy S6 Edge which was launched earlier this year. They also have officially introduced the Galaxy Note 5 which will be the phone to get for plenty of consumers. In many ways it will still be much the same Galaxy Note series device that people are familiar with and love, but with more than a few notable improvements.

As one of the biggest phone announcements of the year, consumers will be expecting the capability to pick it up at their respective carriers, and Sprint has officially announced that they will be one of those carriers here in the U.S. Samsung has stated that the Galaxy Note 5 will be available for purchase in-store starting on August 21st. Pre-orders for the device however, start today at 3PM EDT, and luckily this includes Sprint. Subscribers of the carrier will be able to grab the Galaxy Note 5 on either a 2-year contract for $249 for the 32GB model, or $349 for the 64GB model. For consumers who choose the no contract/full cost outright option, they’ll be looking at spending either $720 or $816 for the 32GB and 64GB models respectively. There is also Sprint’s easy pay and lease options, which both carry a $o down payment for qualified subscribers. Easy pay will be $30 a month or $34 a month for the 32GB and 64GB models, while Sprint’s lease option will be $25 a month or $30 a month for the 32GB and 64GB options.

Sprint also has a few different promotions running for customers who choose to pick up the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. If you trade in a working smartphone Sprint will give you a $200 guaranteed credit. They also guarantee an early upgrade at 12 months and a free (yep, free) Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 when you activate and sign a new two-year service agreement.

As a quick recap, the Galaxy Note 5 is equipped with Samsung’s Exynos 7420 octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM, carrying 32GB or 64GB of internal storage space with no room for expansion. It also carries a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 518 ppi, a 16MP OIS rear camera and a 5MP front camera for video chat and selfies. Although Samsung brought the battery down a little bit from last year’s Galaxy Note 4, the 3,000mAh battery in the Galaxy Note 5 should last all day and then some thanks to Samsung’s improvements on battery management.
