Alleged European Prices For New Nexus Devices Leaked

We are just a few hours away from the announcement of the highly-expected and speculated Nexus phones. This year, Google will be announcing two phones instead of just one, the Nexus 5X made by Korean giant LG and the Nexus 5P manufactured by Chinese maker Huawei. We already know a lot about what the handsets will offer, thanks to the countless leaks we have seen lately. Specs talks have been around for a while but not until recently we had solid information about possible pricing. Yesterday we had info on how much these devices are expected to cost in the U.S. and Canada, and a few hours ago a Dutch e-commerce website revealed the prices for Europe (or at least for the Netherlands).

While the Nexus 5X is expected to cost 379 USD for the 16 GB version, in Europe it is listed for 479 EUR (around 536 USD). The 32 GB one costs 529 EUR (592 USD) and the Nexus 6P with 32 GB of internal storage will be sold for a whopping 649 EUR or 727 USD. These prices are really high when compared to what Americans will likely pay, since the basic model of the Nexus 5X will be offered for $379 and the 32 GB Nexus 6P is set to cost $499. If you are unfamiliar with the specs, the LG Nexus 5X will be a sequel for the 2013 Nexus 5 also from the Korean maker, featuring a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, 3 GB of RAM and powered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 808. The Nexus 5P will be the most powerful of them with an octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC with the same 3 GB of RAM and a QHD resolution screen. Both phones will also feature a fingerprint scanner on the back.

Earlier today we also saw a hands-on video with an unofficial Nexus 5X prototype. Other than the two new phones, it will be the debut of the final version of Android M. Additionally, rumors suggest Google will also announce a new Chromecast device for audio, an upgraded Chromecast and maybe something about Android Wear. Stay tuned for more news, as the event will start at 10 AM in San Francisco, which is 5 PM in London, 12 AM (of September 30th) in Beijing and 10:30 PM in Mumbai.
