Carphone Warehouse Lists Xperia Z5 for Pre-Order

Earlier this week, during IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany Sony took official wraps off of their new Xperia Z5 line of smartphones. Much like the Xperia Z3 that debuted there last year, Sony are offering a normal Xperia Z5 and an Xperia Z5 Compact, a smaller device with all the same hardware on the inside. They also debuted the incredible Xperia Z5 Premium which features a 4K display up front and center. While this bonkers 4K dream machine won’t be available until November time, the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will go on sale in October, and in the UK, the Carphone Warehouse already has them up for pre-order.

As we’ve come to expect of Sony smartphones, these two aren’t going to be cheap. For a SIM-Free, unlocked Xperia Z5, Carphone Warehouse have a price of £549.99 listed, which is far from cheap. It’s available in Black, Green, Gold and the exclusive to Carphone Warehouse Ice White color. There are varying contracts available as well, starting from around £42 with the phone for free. Of course, many of these contracts come with a paltry amount of data, so be aware of that. Meanwhile, the Xperia Z5 Compact, which is a 4.6-inch version of the same phone, with the same killer camera and high-end specs, is a little more affordable. Its SIM-Free price is currently listed as £449.99 and will be available in both Coral and White exclusively from Carphone Warehouse, with the Black color joining them. Contracts here are a little more affordable as well, with £36 a month getting you 3GB of data on O2 for 24 months.

Coming so soon after the launch of the Xperia Z3+, these prices are’t exactly the best, and many that have signed a contract on the Xperia Z3+ will be more than a little annoyed with Sony. Not only do the Xperia Z5 line feature a new camera, but also a fingerprint scanner, along with improved battery life. Either way, those interested can take a look at the link below for more info.
