Coolpad is not typically a mobile device brand you’ll hear about in the U.S., and this is because there aren’t many Chinese mobile device brands who have smartphones and tablets which make their way to the states. For Coolpad, that’s changing as of now with their recent announcement today that they’ll be launching the first device in their lineup to make it to T-Mobile’s network, as part of the partnership between Coolpad and the U.S.’ now third largest wireless carrier. The smartphone will be called the Coolpad Rogue, and it’s due to hit T-Mobile store shelves and the T-Mobile online website starting on the 30th of September which isn’t too long of a wait.
The Coolpad Rogue will be equipped with a 4-inch WVGA display, which makes perfect sense given the price point that Coolpad and T-mobile are going for with this device. It’s set to be marketed more towards the budget category, so those who are looking for a more affordable handset may end up finding the Rogue to be just what they’re looking for. The Rogue will come at a cost resembling the category it’s been made for, as T-Mobile subscribers will only have to shell out $50 to get a hold of one. That’s a considerably low price in today’s world, but not shocking with the number of low-end, low-cost devices increasing.
For that price, users will get a device running on the latest Android version currently which is Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and the device is also equipped with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage space, with expandable storage space up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. It also features a 2MP rear-facing camera and 0.3MP front-facing camera, which isn’t anything to write home about but it’ll allow users to get by and customers will need to remember the price they’re paying for the phone. The specs page doesn’t list the exact battery capacity but it does list the time of expected battery life which is slated for around six hours of usage time and two hundred hours of standby. Customers won’t be getting the best of the best specs here, but it won’t cost them a whole lot and that’s something to be excited about.
