Huawei Nexus visits GFXBench, Shows QHD Display & More

Just yesterday, the Huawei Nexus took a visit to GeekBench and showed off a few of its specs, as well as showing a relatively low benchmark score, considering it’s running the Snapdragon 810 with 3GB of RAM. Now the device has appeared on GFXBench, and shows essentially the same specs. Here we’re looking at a 5.7-inch QHD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 clocked at 1.9GHz, along with the Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage with a 13MP camera on the back and a 8MP front-facing shooter. You can take a look at the scores from GFXBench in the sources link below.

The Huawei Nexus is supposedly going to be the larger of the two Nexus smartphones announced this fall. In fact, we are expecting it to be announced on September 29th, along with the final version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It’s important to remember that this event is not confirmed, and is still a rumor. We’re looking at a smaller LG Nexus, around 5.2 inches, as well as this 5.7-inch Huawei Nexus. But for Google, and perhaps Huawei, this partnership is said to go deeper than just a Nexus. Google is blocked in China, and they want to get back in there. Who can blame them? China is the largest country in the world. With Huawei being backed by the government, Google is working with them to get back into China, even if its a limited launch with just Google Play. While on the other side, Huawei is looking to jump into the US and North America, at a larger capacity. And in the past, the Nexus program has helped manufacturers get a bigger marketshare and sell more devices. Just look at HTC, Samsung and LG.

Huawei makes some great smartphones, but for the most part they don’t come to the US. Hopefully Google can help them out with that, as they are starting to lose market share at home in China, due to all the other smartphone makers popping up. Including Xiaomi, Meizu, Elephone, ZUK, and many others. While everyone else is expanding into India, Huawei wants to expand into North America, and in a big way. We are definitely excited to see that.
